Spherical Pallet

Postby OldBrush on Fri Apr 02, 2010 6:04 pm

Hi, I'm new here. I call myself OldBrush because, well, I'm old and I paint.

I thought that some of you might be able to use this so here is a copy you can move to your desktop and play with. This is a sphere (I bet you guessed that,LOL) that I made and rendered in Blender 2.49. I put a basic skin material on it. We all know that when it comes to skin one color doesn't fit all so feel free to play with your levels, hue, saturation and so on until you get the range that you want. I rendered it with a white light but you can vary that too. After making it look the way I want it to I just open it in a separate window from my work area and use the eyedropper (or whatever) to choose the color I need.

Hope it proves useful to you and let me know what you think of it.

Tony

....and with age, wisdom. Oldbrush, you have supplied an incredibly versatile and easy to use tool. It's so simple, makes one ask "why didn't I think of it before?". Naturally, there always sceptics, but all I can say is after following you tip, my latest WIP is taking less time than usual. To anyone else, if your painting people or skin, on any level, this little gizmo is sweeeeet. Thanks again for sharing Oldbrush.
