Its hard to justify having to buy a £6 mag when its a multi-format and coverage on the software you have is limited in being published '
Corel Painter ' Artrage ' Manga Studio 'Sketchbook pro and o and that photoshop thingy ! It's to much in one mag for me like being in a favorite toy shop you have one but like the other .. I still prefer Corel Painter myself and having it's own magazine was fine until chief editors think of a naff idea and presto a magazine where you read on other software exploits and little page for you sir ! I sometimes pick this mag up and briefly scan through but will not buy I understand the format etc but no thanks .. :|

Have you had a look at the bookazines?

I find them brilliant, around 250 pages of all the information in the subject I am interested in and no adverts. I can't justify buying all the magazines I'm interested in but I certainly get the bookazines!

*Note* I am in no way affiliated with Imagine Publishing except for volunteering to help moderate this forum, but I do love my bookazines!!!* :D

Yeah, it was nice having a magazine dedicated to Painter but a lot of the techniques shown in DA are kind of universal. A little bit of tweaking and what is described in Photoshop can be done in Painter, etc. Not always of course but on top of that it's a good mag for getting to know what other programs are available and what they can do....in my humble opinion.

I have just bought myself volume three of the guide to corel digital painter ' £12.99 and yes I'm looking forward to reading and be guided by just corel tutorials '' I also must admit I find Image FX a enjoyable magazine and although a multi-format mag most write ups and tutorials cater for photoshop/Corel similar to DA mag but more in a joint venture way '

I've just renewed my subscription to DA for a second year. When I first started receiving the magazine, I thought a lot of the articles were directed towards newer artists, and I felt a lot of the info was stuff I already knew. But as I read more closely, I found that even though some of the topics appear very basic, there are plenty of nuggets, tips, and tricks to be gained that can help even someone like me who has been in the design industry longer than I care to remember. As a Photoshop, Illustrator, and Painter user (and a bit of a recluse as well), I'm always able to find something useful in the pages of Digital Artist magazine, and I find the work of many artists featured in the mag inspiring.

I am also pleased to see more coverage of traditional art techniques
