Apple’s iPad is here and with it comes a host of updated art apps for your mobile drawing pleasure! But which ones do you reckon are the best? Is Brushes better now it’s bigger? Do you like the fuller functionality of Sketchbook Pro for iPad? Or how about the new Adobe Ideas? Have you found any other arty apps you think we should be covering? Let us know!
Adobe ideas has possibilities, but not very intuitive at the moment, hopefully it will grow. And, hey it’s free. I use it for quick notes. New kid on the block ArtStudio is very, very good but my favorite, still heads above the rest is SketchBook Mobile now called pro on the iPad.
I’m probably odd as I only bought the ipad for the drawing possibilities. On my iPod touch I had a range of apps (harmonious, brushes, tripping fest, layers, inspire, sketchbook and more) but probably used brushes more than any other.
On the ipad it’s brushes all the way with harmonious a far off second. There’s a few bit’s I’d nick from some apps (I’d love psd support, mirror drawing, line smoothing etc) but brushes ui is the best of the lot and the layer modes are a lovely addition.
Hey, I was wondering if you could recommend me any art competitions for kids to win an iPad? Thaankss
